Hog Hunting Alabama
Hog Hunting in Florida and Alabama with Deep South Hunting Camps
Deep South Hunting Camp offers a unique and thrilling experience of wild hog hunting at both our Alabama and Florida properties. Here in the Southeast the Wild Hog is an invasive species, and a difficult game animal, originally brought to America by early settlers as a primary source of food. The Wild Hog you see today is a mix of Eurasian Wild Boars and Wild Pigs over the course of hundreds of years of mating. These Wild Hogs are known for their intelligence, sense of hearing and smell, powerful robust bodies, and sharp tusks capable of causing serious injury. Some adult Boars can even weigh upwards of 400 pounds with tusks reaching several inches in length. Despite their size, these animals are quick on their feet and can easily escape a hunter's focus with their high-speed bursts, making hog hunting an exciting quest for hunters.
What to Expect During Your Hog Hunt
At Deep South Hunting Camps, hunters can spot Wild Hogs adventuring out during the hours of the early morning and late afternoon. Typically in wide open fields or in thick foliage searching for food. Since there is such a rich population of invasive Wild Hogs, particularly in the South, year-round hunting is allowed, presenting an excellent game opportunity to hunters. Wild Hogs are incredibly weary animals and spook easily, this cautious behavior presents a challenging hunt, testing hunters and keeping them on their toes.
