Pheasant Hunting

Pheasant Hunting in Florida with Deep South Hunting Camps

At Deep South Hunting Camp we offer the excitement of pheasant hunting in Florida. The Ring-Necked Pheasant is a beautiful medium-sized bird known for its stunning color pattern of brown, gold, red, blue, and a white ring around its neck. These birds typically travel solo or in relatively small flocks and spend the majority of their life on the ground, as they prefer running to flying. Male pheasants are highly territorial and will show off for females by flaunting their bright colors and calling out to them, sounding very similar to a roosters crow. Although Pheasants are originally from Asia they’ve adapted to Florida’s hunting preserves very well and thrive where food, shelter, and open space is abundant.

What to Expect During Your Pheasant Hunt

Pheasant hunting in Florida is not as easy as one might think! While Pheasants prefer to to run, they’re alert animals and when startled can take off in a “flush”, flying at speeds of 38-48 miles per hour but when chased can reach 60 miles per hour. This requires hunters to stay alert, agile, and on their feet to maximize their chances of securing a win.
